H1N1 Legiyam


Ingredients
  1. Marathi moggu /Annasi poo - 4. (shikmic acid).
    This is used for preparing flu medicine
  2. Garlic -10 (Allicin Sulphide)
    This is an important ingredient for preparing flu medicine
  3. Tulsi Leaves hand full (Resistance power)
    These leaves have the capacity of increasing resistance power in human body. This can be used in the food to gain the resistance power
  4. Small onion - 50 gms (folic acid)
    This prevents from swine flu
  5. Turmeric/Manjal podi 3/4 tbsp spoon
    This is used for germ free
  6. Lavang or krambu - 10 (omega 3 fatty acid)
    This prevents from swine flu
  7. Karu Veppilai curry leaves - 10 leaves
    Prevents from poisionous germs
  8. Nallennai/ gingelly oil - 100 ml
    Prevents from high cholestrol, toothache, psoriasis, aching muscles, blurred vision
  9. Veppilai / Neem leaves - 10 leaves
  10. Salt as per taste

Method :
  • Grind all these ingredients to smooth paste
  • In a tava (kadai) pour gingelly oil ,put the fine paste to it
  • It has to be cooked in a medium flame till the oil oozes out
  • add salt to taste

The healthy legyam is ready. This can be served with hot rice. It can be stored in refrigerator for 10 days as this would be of bitter taste, try feeding this to all.

Coriander Chutney (kothamalli chutney)


















Ingredients:
Coriander leaves - 1 cup
Ginger -1 inch
Lemon juice - 1 tbsp
Salt as per taste
Green chilly as per taste
Coconut - 3 tbsp

Seasoning:
Oil -1tsp
Mustard - 1tsp
Channa dal -1/2 tsp
Urad dal - 1/2 tsp
Hing (asoefetide) -1 pinch

Method:
In a pan add oil ginger, green chilly, coriander fry for 3 min
Then add coconut ,lemon juice,salt and grind it to a fine paste
Heat oil add mustard when it spullters,add channa dal, urad dal,hing and pour it to the chutney

Garam Masala Powder

5 tbsp
Jeera - 1 tbsp
Black Pepper - 1 tbsp
Cardamom or Elaichi - 1 tbsp
Cinnamon - 1 tbsp
Cloves 1 tbsp

Method:

In a pan roast ingredients one by one in sim flame
Dry grind all the ingredients in to fine powder and store it in air tight container

Lemon Water

A ritual I've fallen into daily is drinking a glass of lemon water every morning. This has many benefits, and those that I've sought have made themselves prominent. Some noteworthy benefits are:


- Perhaps the most noticeable benefit of all, your skin will look healthier. If you have acne or your skin looks slightly sallow, this is definitely worth a shot.


- Suffer from heartburn, have nausea, or have a difficult digestion system? Your tummy will feel much better.


- Lemons are high in Vitamin C. Since I've begun taking a daily dose of lemon water, my sinuses have gotten far better and I've not gotten sick once. It'll give your immune system a boost.


- Keeping your insides is just as important, if not more, as keeping your outsides clean. This will cleanse your body from the inside. The water we normally drink is essential, but with a few drops of lemon, we can clean our our blood and wash up our inner system.


- Some people even claim it helps you lose a little bit of weight, but I wouldn't pledge this is a valid truth (though it does kind of make sense, because it cleans out your digestive system..).


- Others claim it works as an energizer or waker-upper. Admittedly, I've felt more alert after drinking it at times, but perhaps that may have been because I squeezed a little too much sour into my water.

All you have to do is, after brushing your teeth, pour some lukewarm water into a glass, chop a lemon in half (make sure you've washed it first!), and squeeze in just a bit (or just put in one to two teaspoons).


If you're looking to solve the acne, heartburns, allergies, or whatnot over night, this is certainly not your remedy. But if you stick with it solidly, you should begin to notice some changes within a week. Go with it - you've nothing to lose.


Some Tips


- If you have a super sweet tooth, then add no more than half a teaspoon to a teaspoon of honey into the glass of lemon water. (Honey has many health benefits as well.)


- MAKE SURE YOU RINSE YOUR MOUTH AFTERWARDS. This one is incredibly important. Some people will say drinking this mixture will weaken their tooth enamel. I asked my dentist about this, and she said it was false. However, if I was truly worried about it, I should drink the water through a straw, with the straw in between my teeth, which is what I've been doing since. Then, ten minutes after drinking it, I rinse my mouth with plain water. Only after that do I eat anything.


- Drink this first thing in the morning. Don't have anything to eat right beside it, or right after drinking it. At least wait ten to fifteen minutes before you eat breakfast.


- Do not drink this whenever. This goes with the one above. Don't drink this any more than twice a day, although once is just fine. In fact, you should probably drink it just once a day because lemons are highly acidic. But if you must drink it twice, make sure it is during the night, and make sure you brush before you drink it.

The
Diets come and go like fashion fads. However this diet plan has found many supporters and fans in Jakarta. This was supposedly developed for the staff of General Motors for its employees to be more fit and agile. I spoke to a friend who had followed this diet and he was very enthusiastic about it and had lost 3kg in 7days. He however had a word of caution for people above 50 who should follow it only with doctors approval. He observed that this plan was more effective for non-vegetarians as it is a vegetarian diet for 7 days. The soups were the best part and he still enjoys them after the completing the diet. This plan if followed in the prescribed manner is likely to reduce 5Kgs. to 7Kgs. of your weight within 7 days.
Day 1

All Fruits and Juices, Eat as much as you can , but avoid BANANAS

Day 2

Vegetables & Vegetables Soup. Vegetables may be boiled or can be taken raw with little salt & pepper.

Did you know :Raw food include all the nutritive contents that is needed by the human body.

Day 3

You can have Fruits , Vegetables & Vegetable Soups.

Did you Know : Fruits & Fruit juices help our body to get rid of maximum toxins that are formed in our body itself.

Day 4

8 Bananas & 4 glasses of milk. It is likely that you may not be able to consume all the bananas.

Did you Know : Bananas are the only fruits which contain readily available glucose required for our body.

Day 5

Have 4 red tomatoes & sprouts.

Did you know :Sprouts are full of proteins. Tomatoes help in supplying the calcium content.

Day 6
1 Big Boiled Potato with a pat of butter & Soup made up of Sprouts.

Day 7

Baked or Boiled Vegetables and Red Polished Rice .

Drink lots of water throughout. Tea or coffee may taken but without sugar


Corn Pakodi














Ingredients:
Frozen Corn - 1 cup
Chutney dal -1/4 cup
Ginger- 1 inch
Green chilly as per taste
salt as per taste
Maida 1 1/2 tbsp

Method:
Grind corn,chutney dal,ginger green chilly, salt in to a caurse paste without adding water
Then add maida to it and mix it well if needed water can be added
In a tava make small balls and press it leave it on tava smear oil around cook it for 3 min in sim and turn around
Serve hot with tomato sauce

7 Cup Halwa















Ingredients:
Gramflour - 1 cup
Sugar - 1 1/2 cup
Milk - 1 cup
Ghee - 1/2 cup
Cashew - 2 tbsp
Elaichi - 1

Method:
In a hot pan add 2 tbsp of ghee and fry gramflour for 5 min in sim,without change in the colour,till the raw smell disappears
In a bowl add milk and bring it to boil then add sugar stir it till the sugar dissolves
Then after the gramflour is done add this milk mixture to the pan and stir continuously
While sauting add ghee to it moderately ,add fryed cashew to it and stir continuously
Add elaichi powder to it ,when the ghee oozes out
Smear ghee on a plate and put this mixture ,spread it out evenly
Halwa is ready to serve
